What's The Cheapest Cruise You Can Find!

Okay, here's the challenge:

What is the cheapest 7-night cruise you can find based on double occupancy? Price must be the best advertised price per person not counting taxes - normally, this will be an inside cabin and may even be a 'guarantee' rate.

Put the cruise line, the ship, the itinerary, date of sailing, and the price.

For example, I found these rates today;

NCL Star - Mexican Riviera - 10/10/09 - $349

Carnival Splendor - Mexican Riviera - 11/29/09 - $359

Carnival Glory & Carnival Valor - Caribbean - 12/6/09 - $369

NCL Sun - Alaska - 09/13/09 -$379

Holland America Statendam, Veendam, & Ryndam - Alaska Southbound - from 07/5 - 7/24/09 - $399

I think you get the idea. You can also put any onboard credit or other special being offered.

Figured this would be a great way to let others know about a special you found. As you can see by the examples I've shown, there are some GREAT rates out there right now.

Thanks for the info. My problem has been that a lot of the times, these prices aren't available when I called my TA for various reasons.

That's the one thing about cruising; prices change ALL the time. Specials are often capacity controlled, which means that they have set aside only so many cabins at that price and once they're gone, the price goes up. The airlines do this all the time.

Specials also vary by length; they can be for a day, a couple of days, a week, etc. They can also have specials that are only offered to the biggest agencies. And sometimes, the price shown is for a group and you have to book through that agency in order to get the group rate.

Problem with most specials, they don't tell anyone when they're going to end. I've actually been on the phone with the cruise line making a booking for a client and had the price change right in front of me!

Needless to say, it can be extremely frustrating at times.

Best advice; book as early as you can and then you and your agent can monitor the rates to see if any specials are offered that would provide you a better rate.

Pete, can I cheat and give you interline rates? For those who do not know, interline rates are special discounts given within the industry to others in the industry......

I could cheat and do that, too! But I won't. Funny, we have never used them! Never going when we want to go. Oh well, some day, maybe.

I don't qualify for them yet, but I do get to see them. some are really enticing, others not so.

Meanwhile do the really last minute cruises count?

No, let's keep this for rates that are due the average person. Although you can show senior, military, or civil servant (police, fire, teachers) rate, but let people know it is a limited special.

And yes, last minute specials are more than welcome!
