Carnival, Celebrity and RCCL have great bedding.
NCL doesn't, at least last May on the Star.
They were actually changing the bedding during our
cruise and the new beds were worse than
the old ones. I've also heard HAL has great bedding.

We've been on them all, including some brand new ships last year; Liberty of the Seas, NCL Gem, and Crown Princess. All the cruise lines have realized they needed to improve the quality of the bedding and are slowly making changes. Carnival has put forth a good effort in that regard, but I'm a little disappointed in RCCL & Princess - good, but could be better. NCL was not all that good. I've always felt that Holland America with their new European pillow-top mattresses are the most comfortable in the industry. But as with everything else, that's just one person's opinion. And, as we all know, opinions are like bellybuttons; everyone's got one!

We've been on Princess (4 times), NCL and RCI and each time have felt the need to ask our steward for an eggcrate cover. I was surprised at how hard the beds were on the Emerald Princess this year, but the eggcrate made everything ok.

My hubby must be one of the few people who felt the Princess beds were all right. He doesn't care for the pillows, though. Brought his own on our last cruise.

The new bedding on RCI and Carnival is awesome. I also loved Disney's bedding. Was not impressed wtih NCL but we cruise on her years ago.

At one point I would have said HAL.

When they first started replacing the bedding with the new European mattresses -- they were great. But as the years have passed, the bedding is not holding up. We have had some really bad mattresses on our last few cruises.

I know of a couple of people who bought those mattresses from HAL -- 3 years later and they aren't lasting.

Thanks for this comment on the HAL mattresses NOT lasting. When we were on Veendam, ours were "brand new" for the ship. We loved them. DH tried to talk me into ordering a set for home. Now, glad I didn't agree to doing it.
