    Princess or Royal Caribbean?

Which line of these two do you prefer - Princess or Royal Caribbean and why? Iknow, I'm becoming a pain here....I just want to book our next cruise (which is something we don't get to do too often) and I need some input. Decided on Panama Canal, probably Brilliance of the Seas with RC, then saw Coral Princess is cheaper and staterooms bigger...but is it comprable? Better? Have only ever done RC.

This isn't exactly and answer to your question, but I think that Brilliance would be perfect for the PC. Being a Radiance class ship, it has all that glass. You can see the outside from almost all of the public areas of the ship. It makes a big difference when you're cruising, in my opinion.

However, you need to decide if you can afford it since it costs more. Cost is always a big factor when choosing a cruise. But since I've never been on Coral Princess, I can't really comment on the ship itself!

its a big decision and a lot of money!

you could always just put the deposit down and decide later. you have until 75 days prior to sailing for a 100% refund.

    just an idea.

I didn't realize that...can't really lose. I think I'll do that. Trying to compare Coral Princess but don't want to be disappointed. RCI is more expensive, but maybe worth it... we only cruise every 5 yrs. or so.

That is a big decision then. You certainly want to be sure that you're making the right one.

However, you've got a coveted cabin on Brilliance.

If you can afford to put down the deposit, then I would suggest you do it to guarantee that cabin until you guys really make a final decision about which ship is better. Just confirm the cancellation policy with your TA, but I've never heard any differently, 75 days and more you can get a full refund on your cruise for cancellation for any reason. So its really no harm, no foul.

If you only cruise ever 5 or so I'd go with what I know ... RCI! Try searching at webshots for pictures of the cabins.

Great.... looking at Cruise Reviews site, I found people who complained about the cabin I have on hold(aft on deck 7) because it's just above the Colony Club Lounge....hope noise isn't a problem....

hmm.. thats a consideration.. that probably isn't an ideal location. its good that you looked up these cruise reviews.

a little research on your own can go a long way.

on my 2 most recent HAL cruises, I have had the cabin right below the piano bar. i could hear the piano going into the night, but it wasn't that bad. and i am a heavy sleeper so it didnt bother me.

but if you want some piece and quiet in the evening hours, it might not be the most ideal cabin.

are there any other available aft cabins?
