    Best viewed by sea/land

Where is the one place that you feel is best seen by sea?
Where is the one place that you feel is best seen by a land vacation and not a cruise?

I haven't been to Alaska yet, but I feel that Alaska can best be seen by cruise, with maybe a day trip via train.

I've always wanted to see Bora Bora, but not just on a cruise where you're there for a day or two. I want to LIVE THERE for like 2 or 3 weeks.

Alaska is best seen by both land & sea. It is advisable to purchase a Cruisetour if you are going to Alaska. You can choose to cruise northbound to Seward, debark there, and do the land portion of the tour, or, you can reverse that order.
Australia, South America and Asia are other places where cruise tours are advisable.

That's exactly what I plan to do one day.
Hopefully this will be one where I can afford to take my Mom with us. She'd love to see Alaska. But I want to take her some place tropical first. I don't think she's ever seen a tropical beach in her life!

Land tour: Chicago, Spokane, Arizona, Vegas...

Anywhere that I can go on a cruiseship...a cruise. Then I get an idea of where to go spend more time.

I would say that the best place to see by way of a cruise would be the Fjord of Norway.

The best place to see by land would be the Grand Canyon.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

A bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.

Alaska Cruisetours are in the $4 -$5,000 range, per person, and include overnight stays in Lodges owned by the cruiselines, train & motorcoach transportation.
Sounds like a nice gift to your Mom, either way.
