Also I am interested in knowing about what the Fascination offers in way of pool, hot tub, movies (?), slide, rock climbing, etc...

Does that help in answering my question? I hope so.

I am really wanting to know if they compare in that way. I figured they are about the same size and I see that they are very close in length. I think I am trying to get into my head how to compare the size to the size of the Wonder/Magic. No comparsion with the experience what so ever. For me I have been there and do not really care to do Disney again. We have been on the Wonder twice and the Magic once. We are over Disney. We are more into the adult not Disney experience. Not to put them down or anything I just am not a huge Mickey have to do it fan of the cruise.

Selena, the lengths and passenger capacities of each ship are given in Janice's(post #3) and my(post #4) above.

I've never been on any of the Fantasy Class ships, but I see them here often in Miami, and they do not have water slides and Rock Climbing walls. Rock Climbing walls are not a feature on any of Carnival's ships, only on Royal Caribbean ships, and NCL's Norwegian Pearl and Gem, so far.
Waterslides are found on the Destiny, Triumph, Conquest and Spirit Class Carnival ships.

We have been on all but 3 of the Fantasy class cruise ships and they all have water slides. They also have putt putt golf. They have hot tubs and pools.

They do not have the rock climbing wall.

The Fantasy class ships are in the process of being renovated with a Waterworks addition. That will add another water slide...which will mean 2 on the ship as well as a splash and play area for kids.

They are also adding an Adult only area that will have hot tubs and bar service called Serenity.

The Inspiration is currently in drydock having the major refitting for the Water Park. The Imagination is next last this year followed by the Fantasy and Paradise to be refitted in 2008. We don't have a date on the other 4.

Carnival definately sells a different product than Disney but of course they charge a different price as well.

For the money I would give a Fantasy class ship a try and if you need a bit more to do...try an RCCL VOS class ship. They cost a little more, but they may suit your needs better from what I have read.

You are welcome. I can completely understand not being able to see them from the port...though. They are not the huge multi-storied jobs like on the larger ships and the sides of the Lido can hide it from the onlooker on shore.

They are moving the slides on all the Fantasy ships when all 8 are done with their Waterworks renovations. (The Inspiration is having her face lift as we speak in Charleston) They are going to remove the slide from the middle of the ship (yea) and make an area for kids in the AFT on top. It will have the curly slide like now but will also add a 3 wide (what we used to call) Superslide, so that kids can race each other down. Plus add a sprinkle fountain etc. Should be great for the kids!!

That's right, the waterslide is hidden from view when standing on the shore across from the ship in Miami.
When the conversions are complete on the Fantasy Class ships, the kids will have a ball, including big 40 something year old kids like me, who love the waterslides. I've been on then on the Destiny, Valor & Costa Magica.

Ken, I did see that in Janice post. I was trying to clear up my post and I think I made it more confusing.

My the time my thread was picked up on I was able to get most of the information on my own with online research. Although I had found out the information by the time anyone posted Thanks to each of you for your posts.
