Is one side of the ship better?

I was just wondering if Starboard or Portside is better, or are they pretty much equal?

    Thanks

JMO - we love the port side. Most of the time, on the cruises that we have been on, the port side faces outward from the pier - which we like.

Sometimes it depends on where you are cruising. When we cruise up the west coast we like to be on the port side to enjoy the sunsets. On most cruises we look more at the location of the cabin to the main elevators.

They are all correct, it depends on the itinerary your cruise is schedule to do or on some lines if you prefer smoking or non-smoking. If you are referring to your upcoming cruise on Princess highlighting Australia, then any side (starboard or port) will be ideal as each side offers spectacular views of the harbor.

I think it depends on where your ports are. On our Honeymoon I specifically requested we have the port side of the ship because one of the stops was St. Thomas. I grew up there and not having been back in a while, I wanted to be sure that when in port the view from our cabin was facing Charlotte Amalie and not the dock.

On our second cruise to St. Thomas we requested the same side of the ship, but a month before our cruise our booking agent called and asked if we wouldn't mind an upgrade to a suite. The only stipulaton was that it was on the starboard side which meant in St. Thomas we docked facing inward and our view was Havensite and the dock.

Having stayed on both sides of the ship really found any other time it really doesn't matter, unless you have specific reason for one side over another.

I think I have stayed on port side in the past as it was the smoking side. That is with DH, when I cruise with the girls we don't smoke in the room so it doesn't matter. Adtually, as long as I am cruising I really don't care what side I am on.

On our last cruise I was confined to our cabin through three of our five ports due to Norovirus. We had a balcony. At each port the ship docked so our balcony was facing the ocean.

I only have the word of my wife that we stopped at those three ports.

Cute Hanna, but I really like the outside or at the very least topside.
