Aries the Ram, March 20 to April 19, ruled by Mars, mode: cardinal, element: fire, part of the body: the head

The Aries cruiser prefers a short cruise with as many ports as possible; sea days will drive him crazy. He doesn’t want to wait to set sail, so a cruise booked at the last possible moment works best for him.

A balcony would be wasted on the Ram as he doesn’t intend to be sitting there, staring at the ocean. Too quiet. He rather lead his group of friends to the casino.

While in port, he’ll rent a sports car or head to the nearest zip line for a challenge. Just don’t expect to see him on a tour. And money is no object when deciding what to do in port.

As for dinner time, he prefers a quick meal featuring hot, spicy foods. He’ll head to the casual buffet, rather than enduring formal night. But he’ll wear on a bright red shirt wherever he does, while the female Arian will dress to thrill in a red slinky number.

Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of the arts. So the Bull would prefer a beautiful ship with soft lighting and classical music playing in the atrium as she boards.

She will plan her trip quite carefully. If she had a bad experience on a ship, she’ll avoid booking that one again as she never forgets or forgives. But will go on a favorite ship or itinerary again and again.

She wants her cabin to be comfy, but won’t spend any extra money on getting a bigger or fancier cabin. She might even bring her favorite soft pillow.

The grounded Taurus will avoid any shore excursions involving heights. She would prefer safe tours that involve looking at the wonders of nature. Any shopping she does would be on silky lingerie or a musky cologne.

As for dinner time, this sign enjoys a fancy meal, the more elaborate and pleasing the palate, the better. Afterwards, she and her friends head to the theater to enjoy the Broadway-style productions or to a little lounge to listen to a small jazz combo. Multiplicity is the keyword for Gemini. Many ports, multi-destination tours (no beaches for this sign), a busy day even at sea. The twin is always shooting for different experiences. For meals, the more exotic the better; at a large table, the better to meet many new people.

Gemini’s tend to be light packers, but he would bring at least a few gadgets in his bag. If he could, he would be the first off the ship, rather than wait. He would already have the next two trips (preferably a back-to-back) booked and can’t wait to read up on his next destination.

On board, the first place to look for him is in the Internet Café. Else, check the casino.

Cancer the Crab, June 21 to July 22, ruled by the Moon, mode: cardinal, element: water, part of the body: the chest

The ultimate homebody, Crab would rather stay at home given her choice. If there’s a port near to home, she could be convinced to go with family members. After packing some comforts from home, of course.

The perfect meal will be comfort food so as not to risk upsetting her stomach.

The Crab doesn’t like the limelight so don’t expect her to volunteer for the talent show. She would prefer being in the audience for an investment seminar on board. Food demonstrations or galley tour would also attract her. Any shore excursion will be carefully planned, but nothing risky. You may find her checking out the antique stores. If she finds a great deal, she’ll take out her credit card. But only then.

The perfect cruise for the Crab is close to home. A good choice is a Canadian/New England cruise on Carnival.

Leo the Lion, July 23 to August 22, ruled by the Sun, mode: fixed, element: fire, part of the body: heart

The main idea: Sun, sun, sun. The Lion has to go to a sunny destination and be surrounded by his pride of friends. Not detailed-minded, but he will want to take charge in making the decisions. He’ll choose the ship, itinerary, the shore excursions, but for his companions, it’ll be a luxurious grand time. In port, he’ll be buying up the stores to lavish gifts on his friends.

Onboard you’ll find the lion in the casino or discos. He will be front and center at any karaoke bar or talent show. He will go to the gym, but won’t work up a sweat. The Lion would expect the finest in food and wine at dinner time. Holding court in a specialty restaurant with his friends will be high on his must-do list. Definitely, anything less than the owner’s suite will not do for the Leo.

Virgo the Virgin, August 23 to September 22, ruled by Mercury, mode: mutable, element: earth, the part of the body: nervous system

The Virgo is the ultimate planner. Every detail of the trip, from leaving the house to returning is planned to the minute. While booking the cruise and hotels, she will be willing to spend time looking for bargains. She definitely won’t overpack. Every piece of clothing will be carefully planned and packed. Her carry-on will resemble a portable drug store. Whatever type of cabin she cruises in, will be immaculate even before the cabin steward enters in the morning.

When it comes to dining, the Virgo is careful of what food she puts into her body. During the day she will stop into the gym to put in time on the treadmill or head to the pool for some laps. Even her shore excursions will tend to be exercise-oriented.

The Virgo would be happiest on a cruise to Australia and New Zealand on Oceania.

Libra the Scales, September 23 to October 22, ruled by Venus, mode: cardinal, element: air, parts of the body: skin and kidneys

The Libra always travels with others, but will agree to whatever his companions want. He’ll like an elegant cabin with fine art on the walls and classical music playing on the audio system.

Dinnertime will be leisurely paced for the Libra. He’ll take time just to decide on his entrée. Whatever he selects, he will want it well-prepared and pleasing to the eye. He’ll expect a quiet dining room. And will enjoy seeing himself and everyone else dressed to the “t” in tuxes and sparkling gowns.

He will not scrimp on the shore excursions. The tours should cover all the elegant sights of the ports. But he’ll want to reserve some of the time for shopping for trinkets to take home. Even his onboard time, will involve checking out the jewelry and wine stores on the ships.

Any one who travels with a Scorpio will know to grant a wide berth to avoid getting strung. Better off, asking her what she wants to do on her cruise. And let her drive the rental car in port. She knows how to get the best value on booking the cruise and shore excursions.

The food that appeals to the Scorpion is exotic and sensual. Those born under this sign wouldn’t hesitate to don a tuxedo, and this includes the female scorpion.

This is a sign that won’t be sitting around on a deck chair while at sea. She will rather take part in a no-holds bar game of trivia or attempt to find a decent piece of art in the art auction.

Sagittarius the Horse, November 22 to December 21, ruled by Jupiter, mode: mutable, element: fire, parts of the body: liver, hips

The Sagittarian prefers to travel alone, seeking out the more exotic destinations. Not one to sit around playing Pictionary, one born under this sign prefers a port-intensive cruise. To the horse, nothing is better than to indulge in active, sports-oriented activities. While on the sea, you can find the Centaur in the casino as Jupiter grants him a ton of luck.

However the length of the cruise, however, the suitcase will tend to be on the light side to help facilitate a fast disembarkation. But he won’t leave home without his lucky purple sweatshirt.
