Best Spa Treatment for the $$?

Ok, Spa users - sound off!
some of the Spa 'treatments' or options offered at Sea seem overpriced to really budget-cnscious cruisers.

Which one do you think is REALLY worth the price - and why?

    A simple massage?
    One of the fancier ones?
The speciality treatments - for example, weight loss or teeth whitening?
Or just getting your hair or nails done for formal night?

What would you recommend for those who just want to 'dip their toe in the water'?
OR -What if I wanted to really splurge for just once - which should it be?

Ever since our first cruise, I have always used the spa. I wait for the ads in the dailies. They usually have a "special" that consists of 3 services of 20 minutes each. That would be a great "starter" because you can try them and see what you like. They are often flexible and make substitutions. But, if you are undecided, it would be great to take the 3 offered. Go for it and have fun.

If they try to sell you products, tell them you'll think about it. (I find they are less pushy these days). Their products are good, but if you do decide to buy any, I would start with one and see how you like it. I am sure you will be taking lots more cruises and you will have lots of other opportunities.

    ENJOY!!!

    Thanks for the reply.
I'd sure like to hear from a few more folks who are regular spa users.

Though we've cruised a few times, I've only used the spa and three occasions -
Once to take care of an over due haircut, once for a regular massage, and once for the supposed 'weight-loss' treatment. I thought the latter was hokey.

I've done facials, pedicures and a massage. The pedicures are over priced. The masaage was ok and about the price back here at home. But the Facials was great! About the same price as back here at home and I got to take a nap and get a shoulder and scalp massage included.

I think the prices are similar to the ones here at home. The daily specials can be a good deal and I often go for that!

    I just go simple

The only spa treatment I have ever had on a cruise is just a simple 1 hr massage. Very relaxin, and just a bit more than what we pay here in AZ....$50 an hour here, I think it was $75 on the cruise. Loved the massage. I think the last one I had was on a port day when my DH went into town to play golf and I just relaxed and stayed on board.

If you plan to skip a port, then a port day massage can be a better value on those days, sometimes with the spa giving a discounted port day price.

I agree that one of the specials with two or three shorter treatments is a good way to "get your feet wet" but my favorite spa treatment is the hot stone massage. It's awesome! The cost is more than I pay at home but you can't beat the view!

If you're going to a beach on your cruise they often have massage tables set up and you can get a massage much cheaper than onboard, usually around a dollar a minute.

Terri, I have always wanted to do a "beach massage"! One of these years!

I agree about the stone massage. They often offer that as part of a package as well.

We have done several treatments but I have always thought it was much more expensive than home.

I think the best for the money is the Rasual. lol A sanua, a room and a shower all to yourselves with an assortments of muds and the such..... you can do it for less tyhan $90 per couple. You can go Xrated wink wink or go for the benefits of the treatment.
