We really enjoy the sea days as a major reason we take a cruise is to relax and enjoy the pampering. If the ports are new to us, that's great too. But as others have said above, we may go out and explore a port for a few hours and then get back on the ship.
And if it's Ensenada (been there, done that too many times), I would rather stay in that deck chair.

I love seeing new places, and a cruise is a great way to sample a whole bunch, and decide where to return to. But until we can retire, I really need at least 1 day at sea at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of a cruise (the last one is so you can pack!).
The more sea days though, the harder it is to get off the ship!

As Many sea days as possible for me.....that's why a seem to always book 'Transatlantic' ones.
