I haven't really done many of the sail away parties. I do enjoy taking pictures of each place we sail in and out of.

I remember years ago when we were allowed to throw streamers as we pulled away from the docks!!!

    What fun.

I still have some in a couple of my old scrap books - not all of them got thrown overboard!!

Years ago there used to be a lot more people blowing their horms, waving the big towels and flags, and blinking their lights in Ft Lauderdale than there is now.

If I lived there, I'd be into giving the ships a big send off!!

Once, we had a band and drinks but no streamers.
Last cruise, it was raining, so nothing waiters pushing drinks!

    Just curious...
With all the security precautions, do they still let people in the harbor to send the ships off?

There's just too much to see waiting in front of me,
and I know that I just can't go wrong with these...

I don't know how far off they would keep little boats -- I would think that would be what they're concerned about. But just people off on the shore, they're probably not too concerned about.
