The location of the Isle of Giglio in the Mediterranean Sea. Civitavecchia where Costa Concordia sailed from is not shown on the map, but it’s just off the bottom right hand corner of the map.

A morning picture from the Isle of Giglio. As long as the ship is still visible and we can receive pictures updates will be given during the day.

Still amazing, Norman. The pictures show how close the Concordia actually is to the port. The townspeople must have gotten an amazing sight as the ship was beached.
Seem little activity around Costa Concordia this morning.
We can see the Toremar car ferry approaching and reaching the harbour. Please note the size of the ships using Giglio harbour with the ferry compared to Costa Concordia.

The shots we are getting from Giglio are from a cam owned by the local paper, and from that paper the following report.
Continue operations of flanges on Concordia. The start of pumping operations scheduled for Saturday, as the ship has encountered a slight slip operations will probably start on Sunday.

Costa Concordia will take 10 months to move says the salvage experts.
17 bodies recovered.
A copyright message in English has appeared on the webcam images so there will be no more images printed.
The addresses of the webcams I am again publishing, so if you wish to see what is happening in Giglio then just click one of the addresses.
If I see anything I will naturally use this thread to tell you.

Norman, thanks for keeping this cam alive for all the folks who are interested in seeing the progress (or non progress) of the salvage operation.
I do hope the other bodies can be found and extracted without further delay, but I'm not too optimistic about that.
I got a chuckle out of the copyright message! Do you think the persecution will hurt much?
