Ryndam and Carnival Freedom in Key West today

Mallory Square! Key West is a fun place, we were married at sunset on a boat there. (Well, the first 'wedding' anyway, until we came home, got in trouble with our parents for eloping and had to have another wedding, lol)

One of our favorite place....the first cruise we ever took one of the stops was Key West. We hated that you had to leave before the sunset so two years ago we drove from Baltimore down to Key West in my hubby's Miata and had a blast! I love it there!

Now I see where you got your user name from.

It is nice having replies to my post, but do you have to make me jealous, I want to go to Key West. Thank you all Key West is a place I have always wanted to see and your comments make me want to go even more.

After having the chance to experience the sunset festival, it would not necessarily be a place I would want to stop on a cruise again. I don't think I realized how much we missed when we were there for a cruise having experienced it by staying there. That said, when we were there back in 95 on the Leeward, one of the best memories of Key West was on a cruise. There was a lone bagpiper on the end of the dock playing Christmas songs as the ship was leaving....it brought tears to my eyes because is was so beautiful as we were leaving. I couldn't have seen it from the same perspective had I been standing on the dock.

We wrote a blog of our trip that you can see here. Are we there yet?? This was a special trip for us. As I said, we drove my husband's Miata to Key West....his car had over 250K on the original engine when we made the trip.....he's still driving it and we are almost at 300K. We love Miatas as much as cruising and because of our trip there, Mike's car was selected as the Miata of the Month on miata.net Mike and Sharon Leuschner and LILred

No matter how you go, it's a great trip!
