I thought QM2 had been banned from Manhatton as she was too long, but she has been there twice this year. Nice shot Norman![]()
Maybe they said she couldn't use the Brooklyn dock instead, Stephen. But in that case, I think it would have been her height, not her length. They are using what used to be the old Brooklyn Navy Yard, where many US Navy ships were serviced for many years. It used to be a design requirement for ships that they had to fit under the Brooklyn Bridge (so they could get to the B. Navy Yard.). That's why I thought QM2's height may have been the issue. But I will see if I can look it up.

Caribbean Princess berthed in Brooklyn yesterday, don't know how many ships they can accommodate in Brooklyn.

I thought they were afraid of the damage the hudson river will do
I really need to pay more attention and get down into NYC when these ships will be around. I missed the big 3 in Jan by 2 days - sailed out on 1/11.
Either way, great camera angle!

Queen Mary 2 is again berthed at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal after completing her Canadian leg of a 19 Day cruise from Southampton. She will depart for Southampton this evening.
First shot is from the Intrepid camera, then we used the port camera.

For me it wouldn't be weird either but I am native NY'er and that ship is an icon, area would seem naked without it.
