    Crown in June . . . Question

DH and I will be cruising the Crown out of NYC in June of 2007. What do we need to know? We've never cruised in June, once in January and twice in November. What are the seas like? We will have two sea days before our first port (Grand Turk I think), when will the "Caribbean" air hit?

What other tips and hints should we be prepared for at that time of year?

I await your replies. Thank you so much in advance.

Well I'm sorry I have never cruised in June before. I can't because of my job. I bet there are some others who have cruised in June before who can answer your question.

I've never cruised in June either, but I can tell you it's hot and rainy in the Caribbean those Summer months. Because of the heat, wear light cotton clothing, and watch out for the hurricanes.(Ooops, did I say the H-word?).
You'll love the Crown, I was aboard November 18th-25th, '06. She's a massive vessel. There were 3,200 of us onboard for that cruise.

    Cool

You should be fine cruising in June. The seas probably will be flat, but you could have bad luck and a stormy week. I would not worry much about Hurricanes even though June 1st is the start of the season most storms don't develop until August. Also it is not really the rainy season yet,in fact grand Turk ave rainfall for June is 1" The Caribbean rainy season is August thru November

Thanks for your insight. I realize it was probably a strange question. I mean, I know what the potential is . . . but I was just curious about opinions.

I'm just so excited that yesterday (12/17) was the 6 month mark! Woohoo!!

Hey! My countdown clock in another cruise message board says (this is as of 12/19 at 8:04 pm central time) is:

    179 days; 18 hours; 48 minutes; 43 seconds.

    Woohoo!

Thought I'd send this back up towards the top and see if there is anyone who cruised on the Crown last June and what their thoughts and opinions were - especially if they previously cruised during winter months.

    I anxiously await any insight!!!

I've cruised the Caribbean in June and we really haven't had any problems. In following the hurricanes, it seems like it is less likely in June than July, Aug, Sept and Oct.

The weather is hot, but not unbearable. The worst was Nassau. It was smoking hot!
