Pier is ready!! From a Cozumel site!!

    Getting Around

There are three cruise ports in Cozumel. Punta Lagosta is just a five-minute walk from San Miguel. International Pier and Puerto Maya Pier are three miles from San Miguel. Cruise lines have already resumed service, and the island welcomed the first post-hurricane ship in November 2005 with a warm party.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

According to a lady who lives in Cozumel, the international pier will FULLY open in September, and Punta Langosta in October and Puerta Maya in Sept 07. You can check out her site to her site www.wilmacozumel.com and "Better Cruise Ship Piers" to get the full scoop.

At this time you still will be tendering.

We were there on Jan 26th and you still have to tender in. The ships get really close so it's not a long ride in.

While there check out Paradise Beach for a great relaxing day! Taxi from Punta Langosta pier is $12.00 for 2 people and we had a great time! They have great food service and bar service reasonably priced and clean restrooms (newly built) The srevice was great and they have floats and things to climb on in the water.
    We will definetly go back.

We will be there in Sept so hopefully there will be a full docking by that time.

You will still be tendering, Cozumel got hit hard, and there is a lot of work that still needs to be done, the piers are a huge project, not due to be completed until fall of 06. Have a great time. The mainland, Playa Del Carmen is in a lot better shape, a trip over could be worth it, perhaps if time alots, a tour out to Chitzen Itza, well worth it.

    Here is another release Rex!!

Editor's Note: Following a three-week closure to repair damage from Hurricane Wilma, Cozumel's port began welcoming back cruise lines on November 14, 2005.
