Think we need to spend more time traveling in Europe after reading this, one big problem is our weather ! as everywhere it is changing (had a major storm last night, and the coldest winter ever ) I work for a company in Spain/Barcelona and they say that it has been raining for weeks but with a nice temperature what is not normal for this time of year.
Hope to catch some sunshine ( end of next week ) we really can use it

never have been on a vacation by train, are not used to it and what is new is always a bit scary, but it is an option we keep open.
Glad that you enjoyed it.
Thanks for the info about Cozumel, we will wait until we arrive, hope we will find such a nice whreck as you did, by the way" what a wonderful car" you should see ours ....

Thank you Pete we hope to meet you guys one day , a local trainstation is just 15 min from us,

have a nice day

As you know we really wanted to spend some time in Brugges, but our time and the weather dictated otherwise. We went through Brussels and ended up in Paris - all by train. Great way to see Europe, so we're anxious to spend more time there now visiting other places.

You can pre-reserve a rental car through some of the major international companies, but they'll charge more. We always just find some rent-a-wreck and go for it. Most will include insurance for a few dollars more - not very expensive. But they'll be many people standing around with rental cars to offer, so you really don't need to reserve ahead of time, unless you want to pay more for the piece of mind.
