We will be in Cozumel in less than 2 months on our first cruise! I have 2 questions... first of all, what kind of camera do you use under water? I'm sure you have something really cool to get such great pictures. Would I get decent enough pics with an under water disposable one? Second question... the picture of the drug store... are you allowed to bring that kind of stuff back with you? I would love to bring back some antibiotics!

I use a discontinued Canon A710 IS with waterproof case. They have a newer model + many others. I find it is very cost effective given the number of pictures I can take (hundreds) and don't have to pay for developing of any of them.

The disposables would work for the first 2 stops. People wwere using them.

I don't know about the legality of the drugs but can tell you lots of people do bring them back.

No. Not since the S1 (I do have that one + case).

I think you can buy a waterproof case from a third party that will cost more than the camera.

I also have an S5, but no waterproof case for it, either.

Yeah I looked at those third party ones and WOW they are expensive!! I guess I'll stick to the underwater disposables. I hope I can at least get some decent shots to show my kids when we get back.

There are some "waterproof" baggy things that are good to varying depths - some up to 30 feet I think.

You can get some decent shots, but won't have easy, full access to all the controls. And also test it for leakage before jumping in, but you are supposed to do that with any camera case.
