Horse back riding in Cozumel

Can anyone recommend a good horse back riding tour in Cozumel? We are looking to book outside Royal Caribbean this October. I've did Randi's Happy Horses in Mazatlan in April and had such a nice time that I want my husband to ride. But we want to have an excursion that's just a nice as Randi's. I've found tours with Mr. Sanchos and through cozumelcruiseexcursions.com, which looks to be the nicest tour. Has anyone ever done either of these tours?

I don't mind the ferry to Playa del Carmen if the tour is going to be worth it. We are wanting to ride on the beach and it would be nice to have a stop for some beer and lunch afterward. The health of the horses is also key. I don't want to go to a place where the horses are not treated well.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I would recommend Loma Bonita or Punta Venado on the mainland ( between 10 and 20min from ferry pier in playa del carmen)..nice and well maintained horses and you get to swim with them...mr sanchos...not very recommendable...hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. I'm glad to hear a comment on Mr. Sanchos, even if it's not flattering. I'm sure they are nice and all but was wondering if they were really all that great.

Just checked out the Punta Venado website, it looks really nice. I like the horse & snorkel option. Something fun to do after a fun ride. Plus there's a resort to relax where our non-snorkeling friends can have a drink and lunch while we play in the water. They can do that while we snorkel and then all meet up later.

At Sanchos Beach in Cozumel you actually get to ride directly on the beach, I did not find this anywhere else!
