I thought so. It is easier to get to if your ship ports is Calica, but lots of people do it from Cozumel. I'm sure I'll go back someday.

I thought so too, especially if you've never been to any ruins before.

If your ship docks on the mainland (Playa Del Carmen area), it's worth it. But if you dock in Cozumel, it's an 8 hour roundtrip and you only spend about 45 minutes to an hour at the ruins. Be ready for a very long, hot, humid ride. Almost everyone I've talked to that have done it, wished they hadn't.

We've been there and it's very fascinating. The beach is awesome! But I wouldn't want to do an 8 hour trip just for that - there are too many good things to do in Cozumel that would be more fun, less time consuming, and less costly.

I would recommend spending a few days at an all-inclusive resort somewhere on the Mayan Riviera and then renting a car and driving to several of the ruins - they are truly worth seeing.

we ended up booking the race fantastique and going that route. It is about a 5.5 hour thing which leaves some time to do some shopping in Coz.

There are 4 of us who are considering doing this excursion, booked thru Carnival ... but i can not find a COST , just 2 $$

I know it will be a long day, we will port at Cozumel and I read somewhere that it's an 7hr excursion, where we are in port for 8 hrs.

I guess if we do this... we will just have to come back one day.

any idea what the cost is per person??

it's $81. per person as of the 2-17 conquest sailing.

The biggest thing that drew us away from this excursion was the length of time. It was just thinking the WHOLE day gone on this one trip.

The Race is the same price, but only 5.5 hours, so we still got time to kill.

ANyone know of a good leather shop in Cozumel. I need a new whip.

Definitely worth it if you are in Playa Del Carmen. I was just there last week and am really glad I went on that excursion. From Cozumel though I would hesitate to do it because of the long, long ride.
