    How's Cozumel?

Has anyone been to Cozumel within the last month or so? What are things like compared to before the hurricane damage? I understand you must be ferried in as the piers are not ready. My son and his bride leave Saturday on Princess that includes a port stop at Cozumel.

    GOOD QUESTION!

From what I've been able to gather ... some ship are finally able to Dock. Others still Tender. Will say that it's not so bad to Tender because you normally are tendered to an easy spot to get around.

There are some updates under Cruise Places here on CLF under Cozumel:

Cozumel is always FUN so, feel sure, they'll have a wonderful time at this port stop on their honeymoon cruise!

We've been to Cozumel twice - once in June of last year (Carnival), and again about a month ago (RCI). Both times we've docked, although it appears that they're replacing the pier. When we went last month, we saw two other ships (one Costa and one NCL) docked at a different pier - but it did appear to be a pier, rather than a tender situation.

It still looked wiped out last June, but they had the tourist spots up and running fairly quickly! We went to Paradise Beach with the kids and all of the attractions were up and running. The island looked better still this past trip.

Thanks to both of you for the reply. Your description makes things sound better than what I've been able to glean so far. Although my son has cruised a number of times this is the first experience for his bride so we want everything to be nothing less than great.

We were there in May. It was a bit better than it was in December. The pier is still being worked on and is a bit rickety for my taste. The dolphin swim adventure at the park is almost done too.
The park itself looks fantastic. The vendors are still around the pier trying to give you a free shot of tequila. The shopping area right by the pier has some nice leather items.

We docked at what I believe they call the international dock... this is not at the same place where the other ships were docked, but not terribly far away. I think this is a new one...
