We have been researching things to do in Cozumel and I think we've decided to shop and hang out at Paradise Beach. For $8 you get a wrist band that allows you to play on all the water toys. From what I've read it has nice clean restrooms, good food, and a fairly nice beach. Have any of you been to this place?
No, I haven't, but the shore excursion we bought on the Carnival Valor was the Jeep adventure and Snorkel tour. You actually drive a Jeep Wrangler 4x4 to the south end of the island, there are small ruins, an salt water marsh lagoon with crocs., a 71 year lighthouse, will be 72 this year, a beach, and if you want to snorkel to the coral reef, which I did, you can do that.
Now, the FUN and I mean the absolute FUN part of this tour comes next. I'm not going to spoil it for you folks, so I'll leave you in suspense, because it's that good. The only thing I will tell you, is if you are very much on the elderly side, you may want to pass on this part of the tour, don't do it. What part you ask, well when you hear your tour guide mention "The Mexican Massage", back down real fast.
Since there is about 12 - 15 jeeps, the lead vehicle is the tour guide and each jeep has a radio receiver so you can hear him narrate. The last jeep is driven by a mechanic, so if you have a breakdown, he's there to help you.

We were at Carlos and Charlie's in February and it was wild. There were girls kissing and fondling each other, girls so drunk that they were dancing on chairs and tabletops taking off their clothes while people stuffed dollar bills in their underwear, people doing "body shots" on strangers,:thumbsdow everyone doing "grind dancing".

Jemingway - I know I'm getting old, but every time I hear about C & C, I think about what happened to Natalee Holloway - not much inhibition these days... Did you get a balloon hat when you were there?
Our tour guide in January was outstanding. We would recommend the island tour conducted by Harry of CozumelTours.com. He can handle parties of 2-4 people. We toured the entire island 4-5 hour tour in newer A/C vehicle - $60pp. I saw parts of Coz that I didn't know existed.
We had such a great time that we are thinking about going back in December.
No balloon hats, but my wife took plenty of pictures of the debauchery. It was really amazing for 2-4 in the afternoon. The sexual atmsophere was overwhelming. I can imagine what it would be like at 2am when Natalie Holloway disappeared.
We were in Cozumel 9/06 while Rita was in the Gulf-we got 2 extra days in Cozumel because the Elation could not go back to Galvaston. We are in our 40's and were celebrating 25 year anniversary-Senor Frogs looked like fun,except we weren't ready to party hardy. If we had had more folks with us we probably might have tried it but looked like mostly younger folk. Lots of small people trying to sell you silver and or any other thing in the world. We smiled nodded an kept walking-only so much jewelry you can look at.
We went to Playa del Carmen second day ,got off the ship with no plan and Juan grabbed us an offered taxi ride, free beer and beach chairs at Playa Tukan for $20. First topless beach this old country boy ever got to go too. We liked it so much we threatened to take the ferry back from Cozumel.
Last day in Cozumel we got off trying to find a phone charger(none to be had) and let the shill for El Cid talk us into going there. Standard 90 minute sales pitch-just keep saying no thankyou, then a free lunch,free snorkling and all the free drinks you can handle. As usual tip the bartender and service magically improves. The margaritas will knock you on your butt.
Liked it so much we are taking the kids(22,18). leaving galvaston may 15th.
