My favorite beach in Cozumel. Friendly staff, great service, good food & drinks, excellent massages on the beach for $1 a minute, and cleanest restrooms I have seen in Mexico. Hope you enjoy it. I can't wait to get back there in Nov.

Reports from Paradise Beach Tom after the hurricane said some of the bars such as Coconuts, Bob Marley's & Mescalitos (sp) on the other side of the island were very hard hit & may be totally gone for the time being. You might try www.cozumelinsider.com or www.cozumel.net for more updated info.

Julie -

First: Welcome to CLF!

Now, for your question... The coupon booklets do not have any coupons in them for the excursions, so I would go ahead and book, especially if you are looking at some of the more popular ones that could sell out, or could sell out of the choice time slots.

When I was in Cozumel, we just found a rental company in Town and negotiated a day rate and then toured the island on our own......most enjoyable.

I remember paying about $35US for a Convertable VW Bud....

We have stayed in Cozumel several times. We take a cab around the island and the driver will stop and show you the bars over on the other side. A favourite with many is called Coconuts. They have a couple of amazing iguannas that live with them. They are called Godzilla, and Elvis. I had the pleasure of holding both at the same time! I never thought I could touch one of these guys until I met them. The view from their bar is amazing, and the drinks and food are very resonable. Never been sick from eating there. When we go to Cozumel on a cruise we make a point of going back there. You will also find many other beaches and bars along the way. The coast-line is incredible. Don't forget your camera. One word of caution, do be careful of scooters. Even if you are very skilled with them, the driving there is like on many islands. Every single time we have stayed on the island we hear of terrible crashes involving scooters, even saw one once.

I don't know what we are going to do in Coz.. I think just some shopping.. unfortunately since our ship is undergoing repairs, we now only get to stay 6 hrs. Oh well! It will still be fun!
