The Romantica is a beautiful ship. We thoroughly enjoyed it, although the food was a little weak.

My Signature JV The 4 stages of cruising: planning, anticipation, experience and reflection.

Coming up: HAL Westerdam(3/28/10), MSC Poesia(4/24/10) and Celebrity Millennium(9/17/10)

The food was not too great. My in-laws are New York Italians, so I know good Italian food(or at least what those in the USA consider good Italian food) and it was not on board the Romantica. Maybe to true Italians, it was outstanding.

i'm definately not a true italian, i only lived there for a year and a half(turin and bologna)but it's nice to try costa's take on things. hopefully with this cruise going out of rome, and with a lot of italian passengers, the food will be nearly authentic. the italian on the n.c.l. star was very good. found out the chef came from argentine, heavy italian influence.

Hope it's good, but the Costa food was not to American tastes, which is a common Costa complaint. Now, that may say more about the Americans than it does the food in all honesty.

Let's value that not every cruise have the same food. It depends from the location of cruising, such as Europe, Caribbean or SouthAmerica, the nationality of people crusing on, and the period of the year. Perhaps if you don't appreciated food, in other cases you could do it.
