Hi Linda...hope you return soon. While I used a ship excursion, I do understand that there are several reliable tour companies that can do almost anything you want! Wish I had more info....others here might know, but you can alsways check out the Tourism Board site for Costa Rica....

We need to get an answer to Linda's question.........we are doing this same port in october and would like to know myself.

I can't believe it. I've got to take some kind of brain pill. This is the THIRD time I've had to type this because I keep clicking on the wrong page (Me. Doofus!)

OK - They're all there now. I haven't used any of these companies. (However, we are thinking of using them on our cruise in March 07!) Also, the CR government recently passed new tighter regulations for tour companies operating there. Make sure any one you use is officially sanctioned by the tourist board before you contract with them! If I come accross any more I will post 'em!

TABACON Hot Springs Resort & Spa - Arenal Volcano Costa Rica

this is what we did on our Panama Canal trip.. in Costa Rica..
This place was heaven... and we got to see the valcano do a big burp from one of the hot springs pools we were in...

We did the same thing, and I thought exactly the same thing. This was my favorite port stop, and I want to go back!!!!

Has anyone done a private tour? we are doing a full transit of the canal in Feb 2008 and visiting the following - Huatulco, Puerto Quetzal, Puerto Corinto, Puntarenas, Cartagena, Aruba and Jamaica. we are fixed for aruba and Jamaica but would like to hear from people who have done tours of the other places. Thanks.
