The canopy tour sounds neat, though if you are too old or infirm for the zip line. Does it have a weight limit? (Some of those things do, and you KNOW of whom I am thinking)

Oh - one other question ...

On the canopy tour -
Is there a guide or even a recorded narrative tho tell you what you are seeing? It would be nice to learn something about what you are looking at... or at least to be able to identidy some of the things.

Sheila yes, there is a guide in your cage thing. He talks very quietly the whole way so as to not scare away any of the animals(the ones we didn't see). I would imagine there is a weight limit and as I know of whom you speak, he wouldn't be a problem at all. I saw many heavier people than him.

Thanks for this information, hanna. I think we may need to try something like this some day - IF I can get you know who way from the buffet line on the ship while we are in a port that offers one.

One more question. Did you book your tour through the ship, or was it a private one?

Sheila, we booked through RC. At the time I was a bit leary of booking anything privately. I've gotten over that though

We have taken the rainforest tour and when we were there we actually saw a lot of interesting things! That day there were monkeys who followed us and HUGE spiders (shudder) and HUGE ants (little shudder) and a lot of lizards and some colorful birds (don't know which kind, but they were very pretty). Our guide was quite the character and that made the whole tour very enjoyable. We booked through the ship. We were on Celebrity at the time.

I really think King G would enjoy this.
You should have seen him on CocoCay Sunday. He spent the longest time having quite a conversation with a group of iguanas. One was huge!

They kept coming closer and closer to him... cocking their heads and listening to him. Finally, the biggest one was no more than 18" from him.

Puerto Limon serves as a gateway to the capital city of San Jose. Excursions to San Jose usually include a visit to the opera house, the crafts village of Moravia and a privately owned ranch. Other excursions here include a ride on the "banana train" to the banana-growing districts and a tour of a tropical flower farm.
