I couldn't remember the nae of it, thanks. It was the first place we headed when we got of the shop.
I'm trying to set up a web site (something I know absolutly nothing about), so its pretyy basic, please don't laugh. It is http://fmbchbum.home.comcast.net . There are many Costa Maya pics there, hope you all enjoy them. I'll be posting more as I have time.
Hey canarymoon, I think we have the same birthday !!!!!!
See ya,,,,,,
It's also Igor Stravinsky's birthday, and Bunker Hill Day.
The Battle of Bunker Hill, which was actually fought on Breed's Hill, took place on June 17, 1775.
Also I had emailed los40canones to find out about the hotel and Pez Quadro. Pez Quadro will reopen but isn't currently. The hotel is open and nicer than before.
They indicated cruise ships returning in September, but who knows?
"If cruise lines sold liquor at reasonable prices, they would make more money and my suitcase wouldn't weigh so much."
From the sound of things on the website you referenced, it could be sooner! Let's hope the cruiselines can adjust scheduling to match the quickness of the restoration!
I am anxious to get back there, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards for us for this year.
If we are lucky, the itinerary chosen for the 3rd annual CLF official group cruise will include a stop at Costa Maya. We'll know about that later this month what the choices are.
Costa Maya cruise lines commit to return 21/4/2008
Puerto Costa Maya, now due to reopen with two berthing positions in July, said more than a dozen of the lines that called before the facility was destroyed by Hurricane Dean last August have committed to return. In addition, port officials announced new local attractions. The brands that plan to return include Cunard, Princess Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean International, Holland America, Carnival Cruise Lines, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, P&O Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Windstar Cruises, MSC Cruises and Ocean Village.
Moreover, Costa Maya officials said passengers will get an enhanced experience with more tour offerings than before. New choices include BioMaya Bacalar, a zip-lining adventure through the jungle followed by a dip in Laguna de Siete Colores (Seven Colors Lagoon), known by locals as the ‘Birthplace of the Rainbow.’
Also, as earlier reported here, the nearby fishing village of Mahahual is getting a $15m infusion from the Mexican government that will include a new boardwalk.
As announced by Costa Maya officials at Seatrade Miami in March, the port’s first and second berthing positions are expected to be fully operational by July, with a third berth due for completion by November.
