Well said, Pete. I should add that you cannot worry about what others pay. is it something you are going to enjoy at the price you paid? definitely otherwise you would not have booked it in the first place!

"As you stated, CLF is definitely much better and nicer than CC. Where those people are always critical about everything, people here are more upbeat and helpful"

Pete .... Could not agree with you more! too many believe every word written by the media.

    Hi Guys,

I think the person who posted on CC has actually been pretty fair-minded about the whole thing. Believe me, I do not trust traditional media outlets any farther than I could throw them. Objective, balanced reporting is a thing of the past.

I never believe anyone who is 100% negative in a cruise review. If they can't find anything good to say about a cruise, the problem is probably with them, not the cruise. (I mean aside from the ship sinking.)

You haven't read my Noordam "Cruise from Hell" review! Almost everything that could have gone wrong (with the exception of the ship sinking) did go wrong. Noro virus, fire, exploding hair dryer, 2nd degree burns, uncaring staff, the list goes on and on......

I love going to travel shows and going up to the HAL desk and tell them that my first cruise on HAL was wonderful - but I will never cruise with them again after our second cruise. Then, when they innocently ask "what happened" I tell them. It is amazing how the line behind me slowly disappears as people listen in.

I couldn't find the whole review. It ends with "More Details to Follow..."

I'd sail with Costa in a flash.

My concern is not with safety at all. I imagine Costa (and probably all cruise ships) are going to be extremely safety conscious now. And giving Giglio a very wide berth!

My concern is more about getting my money's worth. We haven't had a vacation in awhile so when we spring for a cruise, it's a big deal for us.

(How do y'all afford to cruise so often? Frequent flyer miles? Smart investments?)

So 1) If we don't end up going to Israel it would be very disappointing because that's the main reason we chose this particular cruise 2) It would be pretty irritating to be stuck in an inside cabin on a ship where people who paid less are have a balcony.

And yes I did buy insurance - but not the "Cancel for any reason" kind.
You've got airfare paid for, I'd still go if as you stated, you really wanted to go on the cruise. I'd still go for the Costa experience.
