I would recommend it to others but with the rejoinder:

Know what you are getting yourself into. This is not an American flavored cruiseline. It is European, specifically, it is Italian. It will be a different type cruise than you are probably used to.

Having just returned from the Costa Atlantica, I couldn't have said it any better. Atlantica is a beautiful, clean ship. We had a great itinerary, and my husband and I had a good time. Having sailed with Costa twice now, we would be cautious to recommend them, not knowing what a person was looking for in a cruise.

I couldn't say it any better, so I will just quote it.

Well, now I am even more curious about them than I was before!
I may have to try Costa Cruises one of these days... some day.

That is exactly the advise I've heard from everyone who has sailed with Costa. The poeple I've spoken with loved the experience, but warned that the Italian and Europeans on a whole do not go in for the Broadway and Vegas style shows we Americans are accustomed to, among just a few other things.

    Thumbs up

    For sure we would!

Always have had wonderful times on Costa ships! Would sail Costa more often if we could find itineraries that worked for us!

    Well said everyone.

I sailed the Costa Romantica...beautiful, classy ship. They do cater to Europeans, and in general and not meant to insult anyone, but they were not the friendliest passengers. The crew is awesome...and I had a great time...it was actually my first!

I'm a bit tired of the shows on American cruise ships anyway!
