We had an opportunity for a good price on a one-time repositioning cruise.

Our travel agent recommended it. The first agent we went through gave us some cruiseline books and assured us that the prices listed were high; she could get us a cruise for much less. Well, we picked one and the price was higher than the book! Needless to say we went with another TA...friend of a friend...who recommended Costa. She had heard good things, but had never been on it herself. Looking the website and checking out the reviews (very mixed, I might add) we decided to go for it.

    Never happier!!!!

We'll be on the Costa Magica on March 18th '07. Two ports caught out attention, then the price was great.

I haven't tried it yet. I am waiting for someone I know to give me a positive report on it.

Well You do'nt know me but I thought I would give my 2 cents...
My wife and I just took a cruise on the Costa Medeterranea 7 day out of Ft lauderdale. Honestly it was the price that attracted us. We got a balcony room at an amazing rate last minute. We wer'nt sure what to excpect we had heard that they cater to a wide audience as far as guest other than Americans. Well as far as the cruise... we had one of the best experience we have ever had. The crew was great attended to our needs without a second thought. Service was far better than any we had previously experienced. Our room was very spacious and our room attendant was great. On to the food... Well The buffet lines were great seldom did I even stand in line or feel pressured to make a decision about geting something in a cattle line. The variety of buffet food choices was great from springrolls to spare ribs and pasta pasta pasta eveywhere...YUM... The dinner, Well, As normal very much like dining in a 5 star resturant. Where not a detail was missed. The waiter would put the food down and wait to see if I was happy with what he brought. I must say my favorite part. Almost no lines for anything, embarkation, buffet, elevators, almost always open and no waiting. That was one of the biggest points that made my vacation stress free!!!
Well on to the stuff you might find as an annoyance on board Costa. First every announcement was made in 5 languages. So for your muster station drill, prepare to be there for a while. Every time there was a show or a theatre announcement again 5 languages which they flowed from without missing a beat. The show were also geared more towards an international audience, very different from those of us used to the other cruise lines who cater to americans. Lastly I must say the food in the dining room was excellent, but somtimes I felt a need for some additional "safe" choices and on this ship they have discontinued the lobster night. So there are a few things I found might be a show stopper for some of you.
But, I must say again over all, this has been the best cruise I have been on by far. The caring staff, the lack of a cattle line no matter where I went on board, empty deck chairs as far as the eye could see, plenty of space for the guests and pasta pasta pasta...YUM... Overall and amazing time!!! I will and would go again tomorrow if I could!!! We were already looking for a Costa booking this fall!!!
