Thread: X-1 Drink Package Help Please

I am cruising on Costa Atlantica on 12/19 and am wondering about the X-1 drink package. My wife and I both do like to drink beer and wine, but is the X-1 worth the new price (about $16 per day)?

What time of day is it able to be used (lunch means what time, etc.)?
Is it worth it if we'll miss three lunches while on shore?

Please share any information you have, especially if you've actually used it recently on a Costa ship!!!

No, Ken should be here tonight and see your post. Sometimes he doesn't come on till late, depending on his work schedule.

Hi Brennanab, I haven't cruised with Costa since March, 2007, but I did not buy the X1 Card then. It's a better deal purchasing the X1 as you can have as many drinks per day at lunch(about 11 AM - 1 PM or there about) and at Dinner if you are able to use it at all times.
It's $112.70 per person for the 7 days, or $16.10 per day. I wouldn't think of purchasing one if I'm going to miss three lunches. It's money down the drain, IMO.
You not only use it for alcoholic beverages, but for soft drinks and Mineral Water also. Remember, these drinks are served by the glass.

*If one person per cabin purchases the X1 Card, the other must purchase it also. You can now use it in the Buffet and Specialty Restaurants, in addition to the Main Dining Rooms.

The Specialty Restaurant is no longer on a flat fee Cover Charge system. It's now a la Carte, which drives up the cost, but it's a great experience. I dined in the Specialty Restaurant on the Costa Magica.
The X1 Card pricing now varies with each sailing.

Going on Costa Fortuna cruise Dec. 2009. Is there an unlimited drink card available for any time of the day? How about at the lounges and bars? At the deck bars? Would mostly be for beer?
