Anyone willing to try Costa for the 2007-2008 Caribbean Season? They have some very good deals. Remember, Costa has been named one of the top 10 cruise lines by the readers of Conde' Nast Magazine.

I've have cruised on the Costa Magica in March, 2007, one of the newest ships in their fleet. Built in 2004, it is being replaced by it's sister ship, the Costa Fortuna, built in 2003, in the Caribbean for 2007 - 2008 season.

Costa began taking delivery of 15 new builds, with the delivery of the Costa Atlantica in 2000, followed by the Costa Fortuna and Costa Mediterreanea in 2003, the Costa Magica in 2004, Costa Concordia in 2006 and Costa Serena in 2007.

Carnival Cruise Lines is the Parent company of Costa Cruises, and all new builds since Carnival aquired Costa are identical in design to the Carnival new builds.
The Atlantica & Mediterreanea are similar to Carnival's Spirit Class ships. The Fortuna and Magica are similar to Carnival's Destiny Class ships, and their largest ships, the Costa Concordia & Serena are the equivalent to Carnival's Conquest Class ships.

    Photos:
    1. Costa Mediterreanea(Atlantica is identical, 86,000 tons, 960 ft long))
    2. Costa Concordia(112,000 tons, 951 ft long)
    3. Costa Serena(112,000 tons, 951 ft long)
    4. Costa Magica(105,000 tons, 890 ft long)
    5. Costa Fortuna(105,000 tons, 890 ft long)

Well just don't overdo the 'pain in the butt thingy", alright?
Congrats on booking Costa. Which ship will you be sailing? I just did a ship inspection of the Costa Mediterranea in Ft Lauderdale, FL. I always love the Italian decor. I enjoyed it on the Magica too.

I know you won't overdo it Smitty, was just joking. I love the itinerary, and you got a great price too. I've been to Malta and Sicily within the last 4 months. Loved it. Lots of your fellow Brits vacationing in Malta.
Have you seen my pictures of the Magica in the Cruise Gallery?

    Some Costa Info.

Smoking: Costa's smoking policy onboard in Europe is the same as in the Caribbean. They follow Carnival's policy whereever they sail worldwide.

Currency: In the US, you pay in US dollars, In Europe, it's the Euro.

Costa does offer air with their cruises. From Canada, they have 5 gateways to fly from, and from the US, there are 75 gateways to fly from.

Does Carnival's smoking policy differ from region to region? Or do they have one broad policy for all parts of the world?
