Tell me about the Coral

We are going on the Panama Canal cruise 1/13/06 and was just curious as to what type of amenities are in the cabins. We have an Oceanview guarantee category DD. (TA said upgrades possible.) Anyway, we'll be happy where ever our cabin is located!! How are the hair dryers, what about shampoo, liquid soap, etc.? On Carnival they always have a nice little basket of "stuff" in the bathroom. How is the food, do they have sugar-free desserts for diabetics? (Fred enjoys the ones they have on Carnival and we're hoping the Coral will have them as well)

Any information would be appreciated.

Princess does have Diabetic food. When you enter your cruise information on the Princess website, it has an area for special diets, and after you board, you can let your waiter know.

My Signature Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

You will love the Coral and the itinerary. We have done the itinerary twice. Once on the Island Princess and once on the Coral. They are sister ships, but for some reason we liked the Coral better. Maybe it was the crew. As for toiletries...yes, the do have them on the counter. They are okay, but nothing special. Hair dryers in all cabins. Food is very good. She is a lovely ship with lots to do. You will enjoy your cruise.

As Kathy stated you will love the Coral, we too have been on the Coral and the Island with the same itinerary and we had a ball. We loved Limon...I felt the food and the service was better on the Coral than on the Island. We are giving the Island another try this November so I will post a review when we get back.... Here is some pic's of our trip on the Coral

Unfortunately, I won't be able to join Georgette in Jan...my husband's delivery driver had the audacity to become PREGNANT!!! and we had to cancel our cruise....we rescheduled for April 13 (she said she would come back a week early....)...so I am very much looking forward to Georgette's reports!!! The cruise we had to reschedule for is, unfortunately, over Easter...who would think that a 10 day Panama Canal would attract families? On the other board, practically every poster has kids, and several have teens in cabins not even close to them. They all say that their kids are great and if they misbehave they will be in BIG trouble....
