We had C727(last cabin astern) on Island Princess last year round trip to Hawaii and it was fine going over but bounced all the way back.We would actuslly slide out of bed from the vibration. That was our forth cruise on Island and our 17th cruise overall so we have had some cruising experience. It was our last cruise to Hawaii.
Tide Pride and Johnmik1, did either of you complain about the intense vibration you both experience? I'm at a complete loss as to why a cruise ship that big would vibrate while docked and another would slide out of bed.
MD11F.
It never occurred to me to complain. The vibrations were so bad that the coat hangars in the closet would dance around. I have been told that the Coral has diesel engines which are not as smooth as gas turbines and that may have contributed to the vibrations.
Another couple traveling with us heard us talking about the vibrations and they stopped by one afternoon to go to dinner with us and they commented that the vibrations were everthing we had described to them.
Beautiful ship and excellent cruise... I won't be staying that far aft again on a diesel powered ship.
I'm going on the Coral Princess in December, so I'll check out the vibrations and the captain's allegiance. Our cabins are forward, so hopefully we won't have the problem.
