I heard from Linda from the Coral 1/13 cruise, she gave me permission to post her email so here it is:
Dobie
As I said we had a great time.
Long trip home since both our flights were running late so it was a long day
yesterday. We were off the ship and at the airport by 9:10.
Unfortunately I booked flights for 1:15 and there were two earlier flights
but they were wait-listed so we spent the morning in the airport.
I think you'll be pleased with the Coral. She is a beautiful ship. Nice
size and easy to navigate to get from here to there, but you probably found
the same on the Island.
We were really pleased with our cabin. I thought it was a good size but I
heard complaints from various people that other lines had bigger cabins. We
certainly had lots of storage space and didn't get in each other's way.
The food and service in the Horizon Court was great. Always lots of choices
and the waitstaff can't do enough for you.
We had traditional dining (Georgette did anytime - ask her opinion). We had
big problems and the last night I let the head waiter know how disgusted I
was. They re-arranged our wait-staff mid trip which I've never encountered
before. The whole idea of tradiitional is the continuity. It went
down-hill from there and the 3rd last night our waitress lectured us on how
to fill out the questionnaire we would receive and what to put down for the
dining room. That went over like a lead balloon with me. It backfired on
her and I gave the dining room a very poor rating. We also had several
tables around us of family and friends celebrating a 25th wedding anniv. and
renewal of vows. They congregated at the table every night and made
speeches and presentations and took a lot of flash pictures. It just ruined
the whole evening. I told the head waiter that it was the worst traditional
dining I'd ever encountered and we could tell by his face they he would be
having a chat with the waitress.
The shows were pretty good. Didn't go to all of them but the Coral Princess
dancers put on fabulous shows. Don't miss them.
Embarkation went very smoothly. We arrived about 11:15 and were on the ship
before noon. We had to wait for lunch because the CDC were doing their
semi-annual inspection.
I'll tell you about the ports in another letter.
Most of us met for dinner in Fort Lauderdale the night before.
Linda D. and Bob and Georgette and Fred are wonderful people. We had
Georgette and Fred up one evening to sit on our balcony with a bottle of
wine. It was really great to get together with them for drinks, etc. Hope
you fare as well.
I'll tell you more soon. Sure wish we could have met.
Linda
I've got to go study some more....
