Dobie, We met him on the pier at 8:00 and we were back around 2:00. We are not ziplining fans either. Are you planning any tours in Panama?

Linda, what do you recommend? To be honest, I have been very busy studying for my mammography board exam (I took it Thurs, wish me luck), and we just haven't planned this cruise very well. What did you do??

    Hi Dobie
Good luck with your exam--hope you do well. We didn't really plan much for our cruise either. We stayed on the ship in Panama. The people who took the train trip said it was good. Bob just wanted to see us go back through the locks.

Dobie - Georgette & Fred did the train trip from Panama and said it was great. I talked to somebody who did the small boat trip and they said it was great. Joan and I stayed on the ship for the return trip through and were having lunch in the dining room during one of the locks. It was kind of neat to look out the window and see the lock wall.

So, be honest...we don't have a lot of money to waste....did the people on the train say it was wonderful? I would probably be inclined to stay onboard....

Do you have any hints or recommendations? I sent my final payment!!!

Dobie, we only did a partial on the PC, so really didn't have a chance to get off. We thoroughly enjoyed watching from our cabin and the deck also the transition. Maybe got a little bored after a couple hours, but ... it was still pretty neat.

Hanna, we are also doing a partial, I have been so slow deciding what to do....that test was taking it out of me....and we made our final payment 2 days ago, so we will be there!!! A lot of times we just stay on the ship, only to have people say why would you do that??? So we would like to find something to do that doesn't involve mooing like cows while in line for a ship's excursion!!

Dobie, when we did dock, we did get off and go to the local shopping area. It was not all that good.
But, I always like to say we were in Panama, etc. Touching the ground, ya know.

Dobie - we did exactly the same thing. When we docked at the terminal in Cristobal Joan and I went ashore and looked at the vendors' stalls. Joan bought a few things and I just looked. But as Hanna said I can now say I've been to Panama. We did the same thing in Cozumel. When the furor for ferries died down we went ashore and did the shops and came back in time for afternoon tea.

We enjoyed the ship so much we didn't HAVE to get off.

Oh, I just looked at the itinerary. We're only in Panama for 4 hours. Maybe enough time for a beer....
