Chris, been to St. Maarten several times, might be able to help you with that, but we too, wanted this itinerary because we have never been to St. Kitts or St. Lucia! St. Maarten has a LOT of possibilities, just let me know what you might be interested in & we can go from there. Don't plan on playing golf there though--the one course at Mullet Bay is expensive & not that great--was ruined by Luis way back and never really repaired well. IMO that is!

I guess, as always, the question is whether a particular island has something unique, or whether it looks a lot like 'just another island'. As you've been to St. Maarten several times, perhaps you can shed some light on that.

As to the golf, I figure I've got that covered in St. Thomas. Mahogany Run shall not prevail!

St. Lucia was interesting. It appeared that it might be the most impoverished of the islands we've visited (not counting recent hurricanes). At the same time, it seemed to us to be one of the most friendly we'd ever visited, and we had a very pleasant day there. Took a 4x4 ride out into the countryside.

Sounds like St. Kitts will be a surprise for both of us. Guess it's time to start doing some homework.

Chris, St. Maarten is a beautiful island with gorgeous beaches! The little French town of Marigot has an inner harbor with a bunch of wonderful restaurants. There is also great shopping there. Grand Case is a unique little village-like town again with GREAT restaurants. Phillipsburg is the main Dutch town where the ship actually will dock, has lots of shopping & restaurants. To take a tour of the island would be interesting , but again, most of the islands are alike. Orient beach is in my opinion, one of the largest & most beautiful in the world! It's got a TON of beach areas with their own restaurants, little shops & color coded chairs & umbrellas. It's also a clothing optional beach. There are MANY water related activities to participate in on St. Maarten. Catamaran sails, yacht racing, pirate ships, etc. We might just hang at the beach or may do the America's cup race, don't know for sure yet.

Hope this helps you a little. More ???'s, just ask!

Joey,

Thanks. I must admit it sort of got out of hand. On our Brilliance cruise last year, one of our posters had a site and I thought it added so much I decided to try it myself.

And then I started surfing around to see what people were doing and saw so many things I like (I really like how logical and well-ordered your site is!) and started "stealing and saving".

I have pages for all 3 of our upcoming cruises, but there is only space in the signatures for one or two (250 characters max), depending on the length of the link. It's been fun and I get to meet a lot of people by being the medium for the information.

Rosie, are you going to average over 100 posts/day? And I thought Garry was a talker/typer. We may have a new candidate for the "Mouth of the South" title.
