Constellation-bermuda/caribbean-nov. 5, 2007

It is early to post this new cruise but this way we have lots of time to get to know one another.

There are some of us from Infinity-Hawaii & Millennium-TA already booked on this cruise. So let's have our own reunion cruise!

We're on this too. They cancelled our Jewel cruise, so we went with the Connie. I don't think I will be disappointed.

We will be flying into Newark probably 2 days early. Any one have suggestions on where to stay? We will not be renting a car, but do want to get some sightseeing in at least in NY.

We have never been to NY, & our time is limited, what things should we not miss ?

Thanks for helping!

It has been almost 30 years since I visited New York & New Jersey so I am no help to you. The twin towers were really something. I couldn't believe how fast those elevators zoomed to the top.

Hubby wants to see Ground Zero. I'd like to check out the Statue of Liberty close up. It was off limits 30 years ago. They were upgrading it.

Hi Jill

Well, I guess you & I are the only ones going on this cruise!

Ground Zero is on our list, & Statue of Liberty we make take a harbor cruise rather than fight the crowds. I guess we will be seeing it when we set sail too. I ride as much as I can - walking is difficult for me. Rheumatoid Arthritis takes it's toll!

There was an article in the travel section of Sunday's paper that gave some ideas on where to go & stay in NY. There is a good map put out by the MTA - info at www.mta.com . Also, if you stay in Manhattan the Buckingham Hotel across from Carnegie Hall was recommended. One bedroom suite with extra foldout bed for $269.00 per nite plus tax. I think we will be staying the airport Mariott & taxi over to the port. It's not as if we have to decide right now! But I like to plan ahead.

Have a good weekend!

(thanks for answering)

At least for now. There is a slow moving roll call on the CC boards.

We'll be flying in on 911. I didn't realize it was the 5 year anniversary.

Oh well, no worries. They aren't going to change my lifestyle.

Smile Greetings from another Jill!!!

Hi - I finally made it over from CC... here's what I posted over there (in blue):

We're Jill (another Jill!) & Kevin from Bay Harbor Islands, Florida - at the very north end of Miami Beach! I'm originally from Lexington, MA and Kevin is originally from Plainfield, IL - two cold weather transplants...

We are casualties of Celebrity's latest Customer Service Fiasco - the cancelled 4/13/07 Constellation 10-night Caribbean Sailing... we had sailed that wonderful itinerary twice already but had planned to sail it one last time with some great people we had met on two other X sailings on the Summit and Millennium. Once the cancellation occured, everyone else "jumped ship" and went to either Princess or the March 23rd sailing, so we thought we'd try this itinerary instead... which I'd been eying for a while anyway.

I should mention that I am the poster - Kevin never comes online and I handle everything cruise-related. The week before we leave Kevin gets interested and wants to know where we're going, etc.

We are in our late 40's/early 50's and will be celebrating our 14th anniversary during this cruise. We love Celebrity and though we're upset about the way the 4/13/07 situation was "handled," it's really the cruise experience that matters to us the most, so here we are!! Bermuda and Curaçao will be new ports for us. We love Aruba and St. Maarten/Martin and will be glad to return to those two ports!

We are on the Panorama Deck in a Concierge Class cabin and are confirmed for late seating - we love spending time in the Martini Bar before dinner...

Since we live so close to Port Everglades and haven't had to fly to any of our recent cruises, we thought we'd let X handle the one-way flight into Newark. We don't know if we'll change that later on and haven't decided on a hotel yet - too soon!

So, it's nice to meet you! Hopefully, we'll have more "conversation" going over here!

Welcome Aboard, another Jill!

Glad you found your way over here! We are in a CC cabin also but on Penthouse Deck & have late dining. We have been to Curacao & Aruba, but not St Maarten or Bermuda.

I see you were on the Millennium in April. We are sailing TA in Nov. of this year. How did you enjoy the ship? What were your ports?

I'm sure others will find their way over here! It's not as if it is so soon that we are sailing!

Hi Y'all!

Miami Roo, I'm pretty sure I've seen you over on the CC boards. My memory just isn't what is used to be.

We were on the canceled Jewel cruise. I can't believe how many cruises have been changed & canceled this year. Yikes!

Toodles, Jill

Only 12 months away!

Hi everyone who is sailing on this cruise!

Time is drawing close! Where is everyone staying in NJ?

Hope to see some more posts as we get closer to Nov. 5, 2006 not 2007!
