Bob, I can't give you any information on public transit ,but the terminal is newer. When we were in Le Havre in May, '06, Connie docked directly across from the present terminal. There was quite a large shopping area for vendors...but from what I understand (we asked), the vendors didn't do well at that location. Apparently, the port officials are planning to increase the vendors, and spiff up the area.

    Hope this helps!

Bob, I can't help you on most recent cruise - remember, y'all sailed off and left me in London.

But when I was there two years ago, there was a free shuttle from the ship to downtown -- beach, cathedral, etc. However, I walked back -- yeah, me, bad knees and all. Not that far and an interesting stroll except for immediate area around the ship.
I don't know whether new pier closer or not.

    love

    Joan,

I will never, ever forget leaving you behind in London. That was one of the hardest things I've ever encountered on a trip. I don't think you know how many people were overjoyed to see you in Dublin.

Someone from another roll call on the DS had asked since they have people that would rather try to get to Paris on their own and wondered how to get to/from the train station. Could you take a guess as to how long a walk it was?

Joan, I agree with Bob, it was extremely hard leaving you behind and if it would have done any good, I would have stayed behind with you (and I am sure most of us felt the same way)
