Smile CoCo Cay - MAP and Photos

Here's a site with some photos and a MAP of CoCo Cay:

http://members.csolutions.net/morrica/cococay.htm

We have only been there on a Celebrity cruise (sometimes Celebrity uses it too) and had a wonderful day!

Very best, LuLu

Thanks LuLu! I have a few questions......how long does it take to walk to the quiet (or less crowded) beach? Are there water "toys" for rent anywhere? We will have our teenage son along and that was his first question. At Carnival's island they had a banana boat ride, and sailboats for rent. I would appreciate any other info you have......thanks!
Gail

Smile

lv2cruise,

I may not be the best person to ask because we have only been to CoCoCay on a 14-Night Celebrity cruise in January. As you would expect, there were nil to no children/teens on this sailing. Will try to tell you what I know.

Your question on a quiet section and how long:

Coco Cay is NOT a large island. A slow 5 minute walk gets you to about anyplace. To get away from crowds (see map) keep going past "Coconut Willie's Bar".

For your SON:

There's an Aqua Park. For more excitement (this is one many loved) the "Sea Trek WAVERUNNER Experience". Also, they had Parasailing. I rented a float which was enough fun for me!

Hope this will help a little! Very best, LuLu

Nice link, thanks!! I think they only rent waverunners there. Too bad as I would have liked to try one of those sunfish sailboats. But I can just imagine how many time they'd have to go out and retrieve folks who couldn't get themselves back.

I was there back in '92 and at the island next door (visited by NCL) in 2000. I love the Bahamas!

It is one of the Berry Islands, Little Stirrup Cay to be exact.

Here is a map:

The Berry Islands are NW of Nassau (New Providence Island) and CoCo Cay is the furthest northwest island in the chain.

I love the Bahamas, there is so much more to the country than just Nassau and Atlantis. I actually own property on Long Island, Bahamas.

I have a nice satellite photo of the Bahamas too, but it is way too large to upload here.

Gail

Should we all meet in the quiet area of the beach? Sounds good to me
