I've seen them on Great Stirrup Cay, which is very close to Coco Cay. So I would imagine there might be a few of them there.

What a sight that would be! You're sipping a tropical drink, and here comes a iguana waltzing along.

Yes, they are there, but they have an area where they stay, off one of the nature trails, and they don't seem to leave their area. You have to make it a point to see them, I think.

We visited with them for quite a while last time we were there, and DH, who is VERY good with animals FINALLY got one to come near him, after sitting very still and talking softly and soothingly to it for about 12-15 minutes.

So, I don't think they are just going to will-nilly run around under your feet, and there is a line of rocks that seems to mark the end of their territory. the rocks are at the bottom of a hill that slopes down to a footpath, and they definitely like their side of the rocks.

You probably wouldn't want to go to the ports in the Mexican Riviera. I remember seeing them there and you'll find at least one or two natives holding them so you can pose for pictures (for $, of course). Iguanas are special to us as hubby and I met in a coffeehouse called The Iguana Cafe.

We have the tiny versions all over our back and front yards. Those lizards are afraid of us.

You wouldn't like it around here. Recently I had to spray down our mail box as there were several black widows crawling around it. We have found them inside our house too.

We were at CocoCay again recently and saw no iguanas. Didn't walk the little path that goes alongside their area, so I thank that's why.

They are probably still there.

Got some good snorkeling in, though!
