We did get the Fish and Chips in Chicago but we never did manage to get you the Chicago Style hotdog. Will have to rectify that next time! Now, you need to come out here on a regular basis and keep me from succumbing to temptation!
John and Anita, Thanks for the goodies but definitely no ice needed here. High of 56 and rain for today so may need hot chocolate before it is over!
John, Wow on two counts! Great weight loss and I will have to check into Niacin! Your brother does great work. That is absolutely gorgeous!
Marj, thanks for reminding me about WW! Unfortunately, I managed forget for the last two weeks and I can tell it! Hope the sun is shining and you have a great and relaxing day planned!
Some of us know that you can't beat Chicago on hot dogs and I have had both, Chicago wins hands down. There is a very old hotdog place in River Grove, IL named Gene and Judes after the owners. The place has a line out the door from the time it opens until the time it closes. There are a few rules though. The only thing you can get there: hotdogs, tamales, french fries and soda. You are apt to be thrown out on your ear if you ask for ketchup and if your lucky they will loudly point you to McDonalds next door instead of jumping over the counter and leading you to the door! Hotdogs went up in price recently to $1.50 and come with all the fresh made greasy fries that you can handle and then some.
As to pizza, guess I'll just have to get to New York and try the competition since my conviction that Chicago is best is based on very informed opinions of others. Looks like another trip to plan! Maybe Crown Princess with an extra day to give it a fair test! Don't think anyone in the world can beat a double decker from Antioch Pizza but I am more than willing to test all competition!
Garry, What a great graduation present! You mean no more manic weekends where you wake up on Monday morning and wonder where the heck the "time off" went? Sounds like the way to go to me! Hope the shopping trip is productive. I have a rule, grocery shopping and cooking don't go together - one or the other a day!
Gail. Hmmm, Spinach and Feta Cheese? Yum with a second benefit since Joe would definitely leave it alone! Sounds like Joan is coming along and fingers crossed that the bp dropped once she settled down. As to wine country, I am working on it! He has always wanted to do it so shouldn't be too hard a sell but this dratted 3 weeks a year of vacation is a real sticker now that I don't have any banked! My first problem is that my Midwest Miles aren't going to work for those dates but there are other FF choices that might work. Just wanted to dump some Midwest miles since I'm sitting on a huge number of them and they have such limited range! Now, you have to help me keep Jean here with us since it will save my poor wrist! She has been so worried about you that I have been giving her daily updates! BTW, How are you feeling, are the new drugs working?
Karyn, that crush is making it more tempting!
Chuck, so how did the bread turn out?
Neal, my daughter makes it using the Pillsbury croissanty rolls spread out as the crust and light cream cheese, Yum! As to brats, Minnesota gets them from Wisconsin which is definitely king! Of course, dh hates brats (and he is German) but that doesn't stop me every chance I get (and have temporarily forgotten WW).
Bill, I'm not going to ask how the pizza was since I know it was great. Depending on how buried in work we get today (installing a new window) that just may happen tonight! Great thing about spagehtti sauce is that it is better the next day!
Ruth, looks like you are now truly stuck. Wait till you taste Chicago Style! How is Mike feeling?
Marj, I would love to get my hands on the Hebrew Nation hotdogs. Have found them once or twice but they are really hard to find out here. Think I will have to look the next time we are in the city. They had great taste and a whole lot less guilt feelings afterwards!
Canary, you are always welcome to jump right in! Never know what you'll find us talking about next!
Char, what a sweet girl! Guess she knows Mom! Hope the nap worked!
Terry, How many can we bring wiht us to the desert island?
Nicki, Sounds like I'll have to put Erie on the list to just to settle this debate! On the other hand, ever think of a bit of a side trip during those long drives and Elizabeth and I can get you hooked on Chicago style?
Joan, hoping you get out here some time later today so you know that we miss you and are sending plenty of prayers your way for a fast recovery!
Tina, All our prayers! Mom's worry but it could easily be something that isn't a major problem. However, we wish both of you the best and fast answers!
Ok, I had better get some work down around here since Joe has decided that WE will do the laundry room window today. I now have 8 windows sitting in the garage and they guys that are supposed to install him won't be available for a few weeks. Mom should be out of the hospital today so need to check on her next then get moving!
Hi to all the rest of the Owls and hope you have a great Saturday planned!

for a while. I'd roam the halls of her retirement home trying to pick up stray wireless signals that weren't secure to try to piggy back onto. It's hard to do email in the hall outside someone's apartment....and it just looks bad, too. She's okay now and I'm back, but we're off again in the morning to Arizona for the week. Got a bunch of customers out there for some seminars and some fun. Going to see the Diamondbacks take on Barry Bonds and the Giants Tuesday nite.
