What business are you in that you can't take vacations at that time? (Just curious - that's a weird time of year.) I'm lucky. I work for a university, but because I'm a librarian, my schedule is a lot more flexible than, say, the faculty. So I can go on a cruise in December, just before finals, when they're cheapest. Lucky me. And then I come back, work a week, and then it's Christmas break...for 2 weeks. I love working for the government.

no over the weekend ... so my new van minus a few payments is in the shop getting a new front bumper. I did not realize how much I liked my van until I got this rental. I can not stand it! But I quess wheels to carry all my kids and their :stuff" is better than no wheels while it is in the shop

Oh, is that what that was? I was hoping they would put her out of her misery, but I guess there's always hope for tomorrow. At least she seemed a little more controlled today. She still seemed to be "on" something, though.

I'm a bean counter. No vacations til after April 15th. When I retire I'll be able to go anytime I want. Course then money will probably hold me back.

So I pulled a "Lorrie" today. Or maybe it was a "Mindy"...
You've seen the cartoon where buddy steps on the rake head and the handle hits him in the face... ya, you know the one... Well, there I am, I pulled into the garage and closed the door behind me, got out of the car, and went around to the passenger to get out my jacket, phone, backpack (I am woman)..I had my sunglasses on, and well it wasn't 'dark' in the garage, it wasn't bright either...so I walk to the door with my arms full and just as I bent over a bit to put my back pack down and reach for the door handle - yep - you got it, I put my backpack down on the rake head, and the handle hit me square in the forehead!! I was instantly mad (thinking you idiot!), and then instantly started laughing! It was really funny - happened just like you see it on TV!
