Yikes -- the modern/ancient grammar is sure different. I'm OK with "arm" (except the spelling has changed a bit), but the old "στρεφω" for "turning" becomes that? I'll stick with your Pig Latin!

It's funny -- we used to think we actually knew what Greek sounded like when we learned it. My first encounter with current day Greek was accented SO differently than I'd have ever expected that it could have been any Middle Eastern language instead! Couldn't understand a word of it.

I'd be willing to slip him a note, but if it's conversation you're after, you're on your own!

I am and so anxious that we booked a MED cruise on Summit for November 2008. The same one as Rosie....

No, I'd never assume someone didn't have another language in their pocket, especially anywhere in Europe.

I've always been nervous about using services of that sort, although I've heard that Babel Fish is pretty good. Context and a tendency toward literalism can cause some completely inaccurate (and pretty funny) results!

I agree Chris. If I use it I usually copy and paste the answer and reverse the language to see if it makes sense the other way and if not I don't even try!

Joanie - I've been delinquent in following this thread so I missed out on the reservations for lunch, but I also don't know what Mom will want to do. I'll play by ear and hopefully at least come by for a drink with you all!

I'm now getting ready to start pulling out my clothes this weekend and get the dry cleaning off so now its really starting to seem real. I also managed to buy 4 pairs of shoes form Zappos.com today. I don't expect to keep them all, but you never know!!!

Are you also doing a B2B on Century? When do you leave? You could always call the restaurant (if your Mom wants to have lunch there) and add two to the reservation. It's under Bell.
Hope all of the shoes work out...I'm having last minute thoughts that I need one more pair!!! hehe
No shopping until I get rid of this cruddy cold though. Ick! Need to be better before I fly next Tuesday!!!
