What a great cruise we are having so far.
We arrived in Vancouver around 10:00 Thursday night, spent a cozy night at a hotel near the airport, and then were picked up by our Limo Van at 11:00 Friday Morning. We arrived at Canada Place around 11:40 and walked right through the boarding procedures and were on-board by 12:00.
We were met by the sommelier from our previous Mercury cruise, Shiva, who was greeting all guest with welcome aboard champagne and juice. Once on board we had a nice buffet lunch and then our room was ready by 1:00.
The first thing we did in our room, the same one we had on our Nov cruise, was to check under the drawer for the note that we had left for ourselves. It was still there , but we love the improvements made to the room in the April dry dock. The back Wall sofa is now removed and the window is now a door to a private balcony. They added about 18 inches to the room in putting the door in, and with the extra sofa now gone it feels like a much bigger room.
The ship was late in leaving port so we had to view our Vancouver departure from the dining room. Still very pretty, but would have liked to have been up on deck. If this is important to you, you might want to book second seating to make sure you are on deck instead of dining.
Dining service was great, but verdict on new menu is still pending. I had chicken Saltimbocca, but couldn’t Tatse the sage. Otherwise the dinner was great. Wine service excellent, and we were greeted by Cellar Master Fernando who recognized us from the Infinity 2005 cruise.
After dinner we enjoyed the music of Headliners band and a game of name that tune with activities staff.
Today was a mix of trivia, and other sea day activities. We attended the Elite Members Chardonnay blending. That was fun and very interesting… you can never stop learning about wine because there is so much to experience when it comes to wine. Also did battle of the Sexes trivia. This time it is general knowledge questions not just gender specific. That was fun.
My daughter has not been very interested in the kids program.. she has been hanging with us most of th day. My son on the other hand has been in the teen club with 10-12 year old and having a blast. But joined us for lunch and trivia.
Lunch was good, rock fish and salad. Tonight is formal night. More tomorrow.

I am such a bad "Live From"poster... I mean I am not really wanting to spend my cruise time posting... I was busy with wine siminars and tastings and great fun and music and everything.!!!!
For Reggie, Michaels was very quiet, and now smoke free....well untill a big group of smokers took over one day during the day for a meeting.... I think they didn't realize it isnow a non smoking bar...but until then no smoke smell and no noise.
I am working on a real review....will post in a few days.
