The celebrity Galaxy, which is slatead to leave the Celebrity Fleet in March, willbegin sailingl for TUI in May, under the name of the mv Mein Schiff.

The English translation of Mein Schiff is... (are you ready for this?) . . . . MY SHIP.

Here's a bit of information from Wikipedia:

In April 2008 Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the parent company of Celebrity Cruises, announced that the Celebrity Galaxy would cease service with Celebrity in March 2009 and subsequently be transferred to the fleet of TUI Cruises, a joint subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises and TUI AG aimed at the German cruise market.[6] Following withdrawal from Celebrity Cruises' service, the ship will sail to the Lloyd Werft shipyard in Bremerhaven, Germany where she will receive € 50 million refit to upgrade her facilities and refit her cabins to make her better suited for the needs of the German market. Additional cabins will also be fitted on existing outside cabins. Following the 38-day refit the ship will be renamed Mein Schiff in Hamburg on 15 May 2009, after which she will enter service with TUI Cruises on Baltic Sea cruise starting from Kiel on 23 May 2009.

I dont like the name. The TUI cruises website says its a Premium product but I dont see that with a name like "My Ship". A name like My Ship would suit AIDA cruises or a mass market line not a premium ship.

I did post the press release and a link to the artist impressions of how the ship is going to look like at the "Other Ships" forum.

and I think I know to who the ship will be "sold" to. A French, German or Spanish cruise line owned by Royal Caribbean Cruises??!!!
