Talking What books do you take to read on a cruise?

My DH (bob278) and I love to read and are leaving 4 weeks from today for a cruise to Hawaii. We'll have 8 sea days so am stocking up on good books to read not only on the cruise but on the plane to and from the port. The books I'm taking are:
    John Lutz's Fear Night
    John Lescroart's The Motive
    Lisa Gardner's Alone
    Robert Crais's The Forgotten Man
    Linda Fairstein's Entombed
    Steve Martini's Double Tap
    Michael Connelly's The Closers
    Barbara Parker's Suspicion of Rage

I was also planning to take chesterh's "What time is the Midnight Buffet" but couldn't wait to read it. It's a must read for anyone who cruises, especially someone who cruises Celebrity. (It's about a cruise on the Galaxy).

I know I'll never read all of them but bet Bob does. He's a fast reader.

Hi Garry!! I love historical novels, and medical mysteries!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We usually just get books from the ship's library... less to pack.

I love to sit on the pool deck with a book! I love Nora Roberts and she puts out so many books there is almost a new one by her. I also love Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiasson, Janet Evanavich and Catherine Coulter's FBI series. I'm going to order ChesterH's book before my April Mercury cruise. I'm afraid I'll be like Garry and go ahead and read it if I get it sooner.

I like light beach reads on my cruises. Janet Evanovitch is great. I really like her Stephanie Plum series. And Jennifer Wiener is another good author for light reading for the girls. :> In Her Shoes was made into a movie recently. Stars Cameron Diaz, but I haven't seen it yet.

We recently cruised with my cousin and she gave us a good 'crusie book'. Mave Binchy's Nights of Rain and Stars. I generally like to read easy and light books while on a cruise ... not too deep!

I love Jodi Picoult's books...the best one was "My Sister's Keeper". It would make a wonderful movie...

I forgot to mention Harlan Coben, he's another favorite. I like his books because the endings are always a surprise. So many times it's easy to tell how everything is going to end, but not with Coban's books!

No matter WHAT books I bring with me on a cruise, I never seem to get around to reading them!

I love all of Mauve Binchy's books. Good character studies and good descriptions of locations!! I did read 4 books on my last cruise, it's so enjoyable to be able to do that!
