Pictures--new balconies added to Celebrity suites

Today Dan Hanrahan previewed the changes to the Infinity since she has been Solsticized. She sails tomorrow on her first cruise with AquaClass staterooms, Blu restaurant and many other new venues and also a complete overhaul of existing staterooms and bathrooms.

Here are 2 pictures that he showed today of the construction of the balcony additions to the Celebrity Suites. They are the staterooms on the starboard side that had the floor to ceiling windows.

These are pictures of the work in progress so you can see that they are actually adding the balconies and not just moving the windows inward to use the space already there.

That is going to make those cabins prime real estate. We were close to the folks who had one of these pre-balcony redesign of the cabins. They loved the cabin but hated the fact that they could not go out on a balcony from their fairly expensive room.

this reminds me of when they added the balconies to the Century. No loss of existing space but a very nice addition.

Char, I missed the presentation. Anything else interesting?

Neal, the first part of the program is just audio ...Dan Hanrahan gives an audio presention before the pictures are displayed. It's all very interesting, including questions from the viewers.

One thing I asked about that wasn't in the presentation was whether the new Blu restaurant on Infinity had it's own galley. It was later answered that Blu shares the main dining room galley. I'm not sure that will give the highest quality of service and food prep...Blu on the Solstice ships has it's own galley just steps from the Blu dining room and everything comes out quickly once it is prepared with no standing waiting for pick up by the waiters. Time will tell.

Fascinating. The amount of work that they are doing and the speed at which they are doing it. Did you notice that some of the work will be actually done on the first cruise. Mostly the nonpublic area stuff with the new rooms.
