I was lucky to be invited on a bridge tour with about a dozen other people while on the Millennium Actually, I gave a strong hint to the front desk that I would really, really love to go on the bridge tour since I had been scheduled to go on one on my last two cruises but both were cancelled.
This time I lucked out!
Here is the entrance to the bridge. Most of the senior bridge crew have cabins right outside the bridge room in case they are called to duty. Shifts are eight hours. When we were there, there were four people who were actively steering the ship.
First thing was the overview of the bridge by Andrew, the hotel manager (a really neat guy who I met several times on both legs of our cruise) He said that less than 2% of the passengers get to ever see the bridge.
Then we were given a complete TSA type scan to make sure we were not taking anything up there that should not be up there. Purses and camera bags were not allowed.
