Has anyone had a deck 6 obstructed view balcony on the Solstice ( or sister ships I guess ?).
Is the view too restricted ? The lifeboat would come up to the balcony rail they say .

Hey Tony!
This is what you are looking for...you can see how far up some of the lifeboats come to some of the deck six cabins.

Gosh, Tony...I don't know why you can't see the picture!! It is an outside view that clearly depicts the life boats.
I just uploaded it to My Home and I'm pasting it here. If you can't see it click on over to My Home and look at the picture there...it should be right there without you having to wade through the bunch of pictures I have there. Click on it to enlarge.

Ah I can see it from my home computer , I was using the one at work and it didn't show up. I could see Norman's from work though. There must be a subtle difference. Thanks for the pic it is clear how far they come up from that. Do you think that invalidates most of the benefit of the balcony ?

Hey Tony
Give me the cabin number and I'll be better able to give you more detailed info and recommendations. Some are better than others...for instance, the first 6 cabins all the way forward hear lots of docking noise. Some cabins hear the theater below.
I'll be back sometime this afternoon to see if you have posted more info.![]()
Hi Charlene
Sorry to leave this hanging so long but I went off on vacation. And now he question is mute since I have booked already on the Silhouette for Jan 17 from Bayonne to the Caribbean. And it is an unobstructed balcony ( our first ever balcony) . cabin 7112. We are doing this cruise in place of the Eclipse transatlantic in April, since family stuff mad that one impossible.
I will have to check the cruise reports to see if anyone has sailed the Silhouette yet.
Tony

Hey Tony!
Congratulations on your first balcony!
I see that it is pretty far forward...my advice would be to move back closer toward the elevators so you won't feel the motion as much or hear the anchor when it goes down...just a thought.![]()
you do not want to be to far towards the middle either as you can see and here the people on the promenade deck.
Also, if you are on the smoking side you will have constant smell of smoke on your balcony.
My advice; keep your cabin for the time being. If another cabin category opens us at a good price move further up. You will be more happy further up I think.

Fortunately, Tony is on the starboard side of the ship...the no smoking side so he won't get any drifting smoke from below.
Being the 3rd cabin from the front is a little too close for my comfort! LOL! A cabin a bit farther away from the bow would be quieter, if that is what Tony wants.![]()
