    Angry Pay for refrigerator?

I went to the Celebrity website. When I read the list of Concierge Class cabin amenities, I noticed an additional charge applies to using a refrigerator. Does that mean I have to rent one? I plan to take some long cruises later to the Western Mediterranean, so if I can't get a free refrigerator, I will have to sail on a different cruiser line for those vacations. Renting a refrigerator is stupid because other cruise lines (Princess is one) have them in every cabin at no extra cost.

All cabins have refrigerater/mini bars at no charge. The charge is only for the products that you might consume that are stocked in the refrigerater. There is a price list (much like the laundry list) that has the items and how much they cost. You or the cabin steward check off any items you use and your account is billed for them and the items re-stocked.

That said, you can ask your cabin steward to remove the Celebrity supplied drinks and snacks so you can put your personal items in the refrigerater.

So the refrigerators come already stocked? If they do, I will request an empty refrigerator - chances are 100% they won't have milk and apple juice.

Just ask your room steward to empty it when you get on the ship. They come pre-stocked.

Nope! You will find several kinds of sodas, beer, wine, bottled water, booze miniatures and a few snacks. Everything in the refrigerater will cost you if you consume it.

Bob always has a carton of milk in the fridge...gets it from the buffet area at breakfast time.

What is interesting is that the stuff in the fridge is separate from the packages, so if you have the soda package and take the soda from the minibar you will get charged. Yes, I know that is stupid.

Our room attendant would not empty the bar for us but said that there was plenty of room to the side to take out the stocked items and put in our own if we wanted to.

Ended up getting a Coke that I never drank. I added it to the minibar just to confuse them.

Have you been successful have the fridge emptied ?
Below you indicated the steward wouldn't empty it.
Is it hit or miss depending on the steward ?

We emptied it ourselves and put the stuff on the side. No problem with that.

I've never had a problem with my cabin attendant emptying the frig. Sometimes I find the stuff in strange places, like under the bed or in the back of a closet behind the life jackets but a lot of the time, they just take the items away.
